Major milestone at the University of Koblenz

First Ghanaian startup team receives EXIST grant

An important success for international startup support at the University of Koblenz: The team Alleina AI has officially signed its grant agreement under the EXIST funding program – Existenzgründungen aus der Wissenschaft (Startups from Science). Thus, Alleina AI is the first Ghanaian startup team to receive funding from this renowned program.

This step marks the beginning of an intensive development phase: In the coming months, the team will further develop its innovative AI solutions and simultaneously advance the establishment of its start-up in Germany.

International Bridge for Innovation: StArfrica as a Key Initiative

The funding of Alleina AI is also a key success of the StArfrica – Startup Germany-Africa initiative, which specifically connects entrepreneurial talent from Africa with the German innovation ecosystem.

Successful start in Germany

The Alleina AI team arrived in Germany on March 10th. On their arrival, they received structured support through an onboarding program to help them settle in. In the onboarding program, key organisational steps were completed within the first few days – from setting up their offices in Koblenz and handling administrative formalities to signing the EXIST application documents at the University of Koblenz.

At the same time, early engagement with the regional startup ecosystem was initiated, including a visit to the 3B Startup Accelerator in Andernach. The onboarding program concluded with an introduction to the city of Koblenz and its working environments. Thus, all essential prerequisites were met within a very short time, allowing the team to concentrate on their startup’s further development.

Strong signal for international start-up support

With the inclusion of Alleina AI, ZIFET (Central Institute for Scientific Entrepreneurship & International Transfer) and the University of Koblenz are sending a clear signal for the internationalization of entrepreneurship promotion and the targeted support of global talent. We are proud to be able to accompany such a dedicated and innovative team on its journey and, at the same time, further strengthen the bridge between Ghana and Germany in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.

We wish the entire team at Alleina AI every success for their future in Germany – and are excited to see what the next steps will be!
