StArfrica: Startup Germany-Africa is a project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany (BMWE) that connects the startup ecosystems of Germany and Africa, making Germany a more accessible launchpad for innovative African startups while supporting German teams entering African markets. This results in a meaningful economic exchange, mutual market access, job creation, and innovation across borders.

The StArfrica project is implemented by the ZIFET of the University of Koblenz through the following activities:

EXIST Incubator

This incubator program aims to support students and researchers at African universities in converting science-based start-up ideas into applications for an EXIST Business Startup Grant in Germany.

StArfrica Webinars

We provide German startups and SMEs with expert insights into Africa’s markets and startup ecosystems, helping them explore opportunities and build meaningful connections across the continent.

Consulting Course

Our Germany-Africa Startup Consultant course is a certified online course that trains participants to become German-African startup consultants. It is designed for startup advisors in Africa, university transfer officers, and professionals active in African startup ecosystems.

Community Platform

A virtual networking platform connecting startups, mentors, investors, and key stakeholders from Germany and Africa to exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from one another.

Germany-Africa Startup Consulting Course

This consulting course equips professionals in Africa with the essential skills and knowledge to support African startups entering the German market, as well as German startups expanding into Africa. Delivered as an 8-week, self-paced online certification program by StArfrica and endorsed by the University of Koblenz, the course provides a solid foundation for effective cross-continental consulting.
